By Chris MeyerSunday night was incredible. It was such an amazing time of worship, of being in God's presence, being ministered to by the Holy Spirit, and praising together!
Last night I had the honour of bringing the word - I pray you heard God's voice and his spirit in your heart, not mine! It's HIS word that changes lives and transforms us eternally. As we continue doing life; doing our jobs, waking up early when the kids are crying, taking kids to school, getting the shopping done, cleaning the house, paying bills, travelling to and from, let's not forget that we live the big life. As we wake up, put on our uniform, walk to school, study, hang out with our friends, get changed for PE, walk in the rain, blast through homework (I know how that feels!), eat tea, check facebook, twitter and instagram, let's not forget that we live the big life. As we do life through November - when we have to deal with heartbrake, issues, circumstances and difficulty, let's not forget that we live the big life! The big life isn't a level that we have to keep aiming for to achieve it. The big life is the state of our lives in Jesus. In Christ you're a new creation. In Christ your lives are in a new eternal state, one that cannot be changed back! Being a Christian isn't a temporary fix but an eternal change. Life happens, and things get thrown at us - but quite often it's our choice as to how we deal with them - whether we let it become thrown ON us, or it get's fired PAST us. It's not about denying what happens, but continuing to live in the grace, power and mercy of Jesus that powers our limitless lives. No matter what gets thrown at you, it doesn't have to limit you! Your shield of faith is designed to take hits and take the arrows without breaking, it's designed to protect you so things that get fired at you fly PAST you. In the big life - our hearts and faith can grow bigger! Start and continue to declare God's promises over you. He has promised - He has plans to prosper and not harm you. (Jer 29:11) - To always be with you, till the end of the age. (Matt 28:20) - To be your strength and your shield. (Psalm 28:7) - That he is Jehovah Rapha. - That he is Emmanuel. - That you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. (Phil 3:14) Declaring turns your faith active, your believing alight and your hope relentless! And also remember that God really cares about your future. A lot of the journey of purpose is unknown in the now, but glimpsed of in the future. Unlike a journey where you have your directions and route on a map. The journey of purpose is simply like following a SatNav. You'll get the next direction when it's needed. "Turn left. Keep right, stay in your lane, make a U-turn." God has given you a special calling. A unique mission. A wonderful future. And for such a time as this, when the world needs the light of Jesus, you can shine that light by pursuing your calling. So chase after your calling! Completely give everything to it! I personally guarantee it's the best thing you could ever do! Stay strong family, live the big life! Chris. |
